DIGITAL ART COMPOSITIONS
Digital art is the art or practice of using digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process. Even though I’ve been a traditional artist (acrylic, airbrush, oil, pen, and pencil) I had never attempted digital art, until a friend and local magazine publisher announced she was looking for a themed submission for the magazine. She told me what she was looking for and provided the models…and off we went. Well, the imaging process was traditional photography, it was the digital composition part I wasn’t ready for. Let’s just say I have a great appreciation for those who do this regularly. Backgrounds must be built digitally in multi-layers where none existed, then the amalgamation of the original photo into the digital background image in a seamless way, and finally the photo editing is done to finish the composition and, in my case…hours and hours of editing to get everything to present with the same relative color, depth, luminosity, shadows, etc. Anyway, I enjoy the process, but have much more to learn!
